Prior to HisLungs, I was a daughter to two wonderful parents. Unfortunately my dear Pa passed away in June 2017 after a near two year battle with a lung disease called Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. In the time he was ill he showed true courage, bravery and humanity in facing the ultimate truth of life; our own mortality. I was blessed in this time to be his main carer, to spend my days taking care of him and being within his company. During his illness I became passionate about raising the awareness of IPF and Interstitial Lung Diseases, and though he has now passed, it is something that I am still very much taking forward in my life now he is no longer physically here.
I will be talking about my dear Pa, I will be raising money and awareness of charities that include the British Lung Foundation and Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis and I will be doing everything I can to help further the research to assist those diagnosed with IPF and those directly involved in such a devastating illness. This blog is a clean slate from my previous website, KuuKave and whilst all old posts will be archived, this is an opportunity to move forward and to utilise my interactive virtual hub with a space that will directly recognise the journey me and my Pa went on, and how I am adapting to life without my best friend here. Hopefully one day I can turn all this into something he’ll be proud of and something that will commemorate the amazing man he was.
This is all for my wonderful, brave, kind, funny, loving and dear warm Pa.
